2025 Audi RS e-tron GT: Priced at $168,295 and producing 912 horsepower, the 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance

  • In addition to battery and engine updates, the 2025 Audi e-tron GT gets cosmetic tweaks.
  • Equipped with a bigger 97.0 kWh battery, the e-tron GT family experiences a rise in output, reaching a high of 671 to 912 horsepower.
  • The top-of-the-line RS e-tron GT Performance starts at $168,295 (range estimate not specified), while the basic S model starts at $126,795 and is expected to have a 300-mile range.

The base price of the 2025 Audi e-tron GT has increased by a significant $18,800 to $126,795, according to the stated pricing. As expected, the price increase is a result of significant improvements to the battery and engine. The S version now has 671 horsepower, up from 522. With 912 horsepower, the new RS e-tron GT Performance is an even more expensive $168,295. The RS Performance’s range has not been announced by Audi, although the S trim, with 20-inch wheels, is said to have a 300-mile range. The standard e-tron GT used to have a range of 249 miles.

An alluring alternative to the Porsche Taycan, the 2025 e-tron GT electric sports car is receiving a slew of upgrades from Audi. The Audi e-tron GT models have received an upgrade that goes beyond just cosmetics, much like the Porsche. While the S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT Performance all offer updated exterior design elements, they also include better batteries, more powerful all-wheel drive systems, and revised chassis components.

The Revamp of E-tron

The e-tron GT’s 2025 redesign includes a reimagined grille and a flattened take on Audi’s iconic four-ring emblem. The RS versions have bigger side air intakes with conspicuous “L-shaped” features, in contrast to the entry-level S models’ glossy black trim encircling the grille. The updated vehicle comes with a variety of wheel choices to choose from. The RS twins have forged 12-spoke wheels reminiscent of the “Avus” set that first appeared on the 1991 Avus Quattro concept, in addition to new multispoke 20-inchers. Bedford Green is a new color that debuted on the Performance model (seen above). This latest model is the first Audi to have “carbon camouflage” parts, and it is available solely with a matte carbon top.

The e-tron GT’s interior has undergone subtle but noticeable alterations. The virtual cockpit, an electronic instrument cluster, now provides more detailed information on the electric vehicle’s battery health, including temperature, preconditioning, and charging rate in real-time. In homage to the white analog instruments seen on the 1994 Audi RS2 Avant, the Performance model’s screen has a customizable white backdrop, while the RS models have material that is exclusive to their trim level. The recently introduced panoramic sunroof has a button that toggles between see-through and opaque glass.

The interior design of the e-tron GT remains the same, but Audi has upgraded it with a new square-off steering wheel and redesigned seats with LED emblems in the back and various patterns. Also, the inside has some new pieces of trim, including carbon camouflage on the top-tier Performance and birch as an alternative. The contrast stitching in Serpentine Green on the latter is a lovely complement to the fresh Bedford Green paint.

Powertrain, Battery, and Chassis Enhancements

The new rear-mounted motor in every e-tron GT incorporates components from Audi’s PPE platform. The rear e-motor is supposedly 22 pounds lighter than the previous model because to a revamped cooling system and reworked components. Allegedly, all three of the available powertrains are more powerful and efficient than the others.

There was a time when the entry-level e-tron GT came standard with a 522 hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. In its stead, the new S trim level produces 671 hp, which is more than the 637 hp peak of the previous high-performance RS e-tron GT. It goes without saying that the new RS is also more stronger, packing an impressive 845 horsepower. The most recent release of the RS e-tron GT’s Performance trim level serves as the crown jewel. When the overboost feature is turned on, it produces 912 horsepower, same like the normal RS. For as long as ten seconds, it boosts horsepower by 94.

The e-tron GT already goes by the RS name, but according to Audi, the new Performance variant is the “first fully electric RS model.” Putting the uncertainty aside, the RS e-tron GT Performance has a pulse inverter and an improved front motor that enable even higher discharge currents. While the standard RS and S e-tron GT reach 62 mph in 2.8 and 3.4 seconds, respectively, Audi claims that its top trim can do it in 2.5 seconds. The former has a maximum speed of 152 mph while the later has a somewhat higher ceiling of 155 mph.

Audi states that they have reduced the weight of the e-tron GT’s battery by around 22 pounds, in addition to reducing the weight of the powertrains. With an increase from 83.7 to 97.0 kilowatt-hours, the pack is now larger than previously as well. The two-layer cooling plate of the battery, which Audi says it optimized, is responsible for the boost. There is an increase in the peak DC fast-charging rate from 270 to 320 kilowatts, which is an improvement in charging as well. Also, according to Audi, the new battery can add around 174 miles to your range or go from 10 to 80 percent charge in only 18 minutes. An optional 22.0 kilowatt onboard charger is available for users with a Level 2 connection.

Larger steel discs are now standard on the e-tron GT, an upgrade to the braking system that helps bring the powerful electric vehicle to a halt. Brakes coated with tungsten carbide are available as an option on the S model but not on the RS. All e-tron GT models come standard with carbon-ceramic brakes and 10-piston front calipers, making them ideal for track days. With an increase from 290 to 400 kilowatts, the vehicle’s regenerative braking system is able to recover more energy. There are three degrees of manual regen adjustment available to the driver in addition to the automated control.

A reworked basic air suspension with two adjustable settings will make the 2025 e-tron GT even better to drive, according to Audi. A separate “active” suspension that allows for independent wheel control is also an option. By allowing the rear wheels to be turned up to 2.8 degrees and boasting a more direct front-axle ratio, the optional four-wheel-steering system further enhances agility, according to Audi.

Currently, Audi has only shared information on the e-tron GT in Europe, which is available for purchase, but we should get specifics regarding the US version in the near future. Pricing and estimated EPA range for the lineup will also be revealed at that time. Prices for the outgoing 2024 Audi e-tron GT began at $107,995 and went up to $148,595 for the RS version.
