2026 Honda Passport Unveiled with Enhanced Tough Aesthetics and Functionality
Honda has introduced the fourth-generation 2026 Honda Passport, with a more robust design to complement its enhanced capability. The Passport, particularly the Passport TrailSport, is the most adventure-oriented SUV in Honda’s collection.
The 2026 Passport now exhibits a more robust and assertive exterior than its predecessor. Honda states that the 2026 Passport showcases entirely redesigned bodywork inspired by a daring rucksack design motif. The distinctive matte black coating of the rear roof piece, consistent with the Passport’s backpack design idea, allows owners to rest skis, fishing poles, and other equipment against the body without causing harm. It is one inch wider than previously, with a wheelbase extended by 2.75 inches.
There will be three different styles of the 2026 Passport: RTL, TrailSport, and TrailSport Elite. The Passport RTL includes black trim and grille, matte black rocker trim, a roof spoiler, and silver skid garnishes at the front and rear. It is equipped with Gloss Shark Gray 18-inch wheels and all-season tires.
The Passport TrailSport and TrailSport Elite target consumers seeking enhanced capability. Both exhibit a gloss black grille and external trim, distinctive amber daytime running lights, metallic silver front and rear skid plates, and LED fog lamps. The TrailSport models are equipped with front and rear recovery points rated at double the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of the Passport. The TrailSport variants are equipped with 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires.
The interior resembles that of the three-row Pilot. It is equipped with standard body-stabilizing, heated front seats. Leather seats come with the RTL trim level, fake leather seats come with the TrailSport, and perforated leather seats come with the TrailSport Elite. The TrailSport Elite model has the most features. It has 12-speaker Bose music system, ventilated front seats, and climate controls in the back. The back door shades are also included.
The 2026 Passport is equipped with a standard 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Standard features include Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 5G-LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities, and a wireless smartphone charger.

The Passport is equipped with a new 3.5-liter V6 engine generating 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, along with a 10-speed automated transmission. The i-VTM4 all-wheel drive system is standard and includes a more robust rear drive unit capable of managing 40% additional torque and delivering a 30% quicker response. As much as 70% of the engine’s torque may be transmitted to the rear axle, with the potential for 100% of that torque to be allocated to either the left or right rear wheel. The 2026 Passport has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.
The TrailSport models feature a distinctive suspension system for off-road performance, incorporating specialized spring rates, damper valve calibration, and enhanced stabilizer bars. Steel skid plates safeguard the oil pan, transmission, and fuel tank from harm. The TrailSport Elite incorporates a novel TrailWatch camera system using four external cameras that provide four distinct views (front, rear, side, and 360 degrees), complemented by tire placement graphics to assist drivers in maneuvering around obstacles.
Starting prices for the 2026 Honda Passport will be around $40,000. It is expected to come out in early 2025.
